JACK SARI JOINS PETROMIN AS CHIEF EXPLORATION GEOLOGIST

One of Papua New Guinea’s most experienced geologist, Jack Sari has joined Petromin PNG Holdings Limited as the company’s Chief Exploration Geologist.

Mr. Sari’s role in the company includes exploring upstream petroleum opportunities as well as overseeing mining exploration programs such as the exploration licenses surrounding the Tolukuma Mine, in consultation with mining geologists.

“I am pleased to be part of the Petromin team because I believe in the Petromin concept. I will put my best efforts to manage the company’s exploration ventures, “he said.

Mr. Sari has over 28 years experience as a Geologist both in and outside PNG and has occupied Senior Managerial and Technical Positions with resource companies such as Oil Search (Technical Manager, 2002-2004), Orogen Minerals (Manager Oil Assets 1997-2002) and the Department of Mining and Petroleum (Senior Petroleum Geologist 1984-1992).

Most recently, Mr. Sari was General Manager and Chief Geologist to Cheetah Oil and Gas Development.

In that position he lead exploration and management of five Petroleum Prospecting Licenses and one Petroleum Retention Licence within the Papuan and North New Guinea basins.

Mr. Sari received a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Geology from the University of PNG and a Masters of Applied Science Degree majoring in Geology from the Queensland University of Technology.

He has also published nine academic papers and internal reports, especially in relation to the petroleum potential of the Papuan and North New Guinea basins.

Mr. Sari brings with him a respectable track record in the field of petroleum exploration.
