Petromin Staff Urged to Be Innovative

The Managing Director of Petromin, Mr. Joshua Kalinoe has urged the staff of Petromin to be innovative in discharging their responsibilities.

Mr. Kalinoe said seeking out new ideas and bringing innovative methods and systems of doing business is important if Petromin is to successfully deliver on its mandate as Papua New Guinea’s national oil, gas and minerals company.

“Success comes with competitiveness and competitiveness means we all must be seeking out new and innovative ways of doing business.

“Let us not be complacent with what we are doing. Instead we should be asking questions and seeking new ideas that would bring the future to ourselves”, Mr. Kalinoe said.

Mr. Kalinoe was speaking at the 35th Independence Anniversary Lunch last week where the staff of Petromin celebrated the occasion.

Mr. Kalinoe reminded the staff about what they can do for the country instead of depending on what Papua New Guinea can do for them.

“No one will create our future and that of our children except ourselves. So be innovative in what you do by looking to the future and doing things together, with your colleagues and other stakeholders in the society to position Petromin to create the future for the current and future generations of Papua New Guineans,” Mr. Kalinoe said.

The Minister for Petroleum, Hon. William Duma who cut the independence anniversary cake, reminded the staff to work hard so that Petromin can deliver on its mandate.
