Dr Bruce James McConaghy Joins Petromin as GM, Commercial & Strategic Planning

Petromin PNG Holdings Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Bruce James McConaghy as the company’s new General Manager for Commercial & Strategic Planning

In welcoming him to the company, Petromin CEO Joshua Kalinoe said Dr McConaghy brings to Petromin years of international experience in project financing and development.

Dr McConaghy has a wealth of experience in energy projects and has advised international governments and state bodies as well as multinational companies on a diverse range of business investments in energy projects, including on aspects relating to financing, infrastructure development, risk management, strategic planning as well as regional economic development.

“I see Petromin as a key to PNG’s future prosperity and I look forward to sharing my expertise with those Papua New Guineans who will drive the nation forward,” Dr McConaghy said.

He was educated at the Sydney Grammar School before attending the University of Sydney graduating with Honors in Economics.

He was later awarded a fellowship by the University of Sydney to attend post-graduate studies and received his PhD from Stanford University in the United States.

Dr McConaghy has also undergone further Post Graduate Studies in Management

Mr Kalinoe said Petromin will continue in its drive to recruit the best and most experienced managerial and technical staff, to further strengthen the company’s ability to participate in energy and resource sector developments.
